(during a family lunch with everyone sitting at the dinner table)
Poppa: So does anyone want to get up and fetch me a glass of water?
(no volunteers)
Poppa: (gets up and walks into the kitchen) I guess I’ll get it myself.
LR: (with mock dismay) How come Poppa has to do all of the work around here?
RJ and Dad took a trip to the aquarium on the weekend. Lots of exploring, ten rides up and down in the lift, and a bit of confusion over which of the 10 sharks is really called, “Sharky”.
RJ introduces me to one of his best mates at the aquarium, "Sharky".
According to RJ, the most interesting thing in this tank was the equipment the staff uses to feed the fish.
Surprisingly, the lift is a big attraction with our kids. (Insert elevator music here).
The sea lions have gone! No more sea lions! We now have a HUGE coral reef tank instead.
Okay, we've seen everything, we're outta here, bye!!!
It’s summer, so we spend lots of time at or around the water. Having a pool makes a big difference, and so does having summer holidays.
RJ is a cool character while swimming.
Here’s a few water related moments from the past month.
This year, our Halloween party was the biggest ever. Every kid from both of the Year 1 classes at LR’s school was invited, as well as all the children on our street and a bunch of RJ’s friends. It was absolutely crazy, but we did our best to keep them busy. Activities included the Haunted Garage, a “Yucky” dip, a piñata, a broom race, a treasure hunt, making disembodied hands and the grand finale, a total, all-out assault on Dad with water balloons.
LR, as Supergirl, decided the world needed rescuing.
RJ and Mum put together a great snapping turtle costume.
