You take your lumps

(High velocity RJ tears past the kitchen, then suddenly stops with a concerned look on his face.)

RJ: Dad! I have a question and it’s really important!

Dad: Okay. What is it?

RJ: Can warts grow in your mouth?

Dad: Ummm… Maybe, but I really don’t think so. There are other kind of bumps and things that you can get, but probably not warts.

RJ: Oh. Okay. Well I have a lump and it just keeps getting bigger.

Dad: (concerned) Well perhaps we’ll take a loo-..

RJ: (sticking finger in mouth) Issssss riiigh baaa heeeeeaaa and-. HEY! IT’S A TOOTH! THANKS DAD!

(RJ resumes his trajectory and zooms out of the room.)

My preciousssssss….

What does RJ have in his right hand?

Here’s a clue…

It’s small.
It’s white… and …
It bites!

It’s RJ’s first tooth!

Now opening, the Raider of the Lost Tooth...

Now opening, the Raider of the Lost Tooth...

After a week of careful wiggling, and only a tiny amount of blood, RJ has managed to extract his first tooth! It happened on Friday, after school and he is REALLY excited about it. It’ll definitely be the first thing he talks about at news today.

Random trivia: It was named “Ogey”.

... and the exciting news is that the tooth-next-door is wobbly too!

LR, take two

Another momentous event: tooth #2 has been ‘fairied’ away by mysterious forces.

LR took advantage of this to continue her experiments on tooth fairy behaviour. Apparently, tooth fairies have trouble fetching teeth in white styrofoam cups, but coloured plastic cups appear to be okay. Who knew, eh?

There goes number two!!!

You can handle the tooth!

Every day for the past month, LR has given us “The Tooth Report” including full details of amount of movement, rotation and deflection from the standard tooth position. There’s been a lot of pressure to have it out before school goes back so she wont be the last kid who hasn’t lost a tooth yet. Last Friday, with less than a week to go, she gave it a mighty push and it finally gave way.

Her first wiggly tooth! (December 30th)

After one month...

and a LOT of wiggling... it finally fell out!
