Crumpled Home

I’d been meaning to get a picture of this for a while, but hadn’t gotten to it yet. This is a sign that LR put up on her door about six months ago, letting everyone know that they’re welcome to come in.

A robot welcomes everyone who comes to LR's bedroom door. Proud father? Oh yes, indeed.

That’s a robot that’s she’s drawn (from scratch) on there… It’s because of things like this that I can look past the all the other fluffy pink stuff around the place.

Fairies? Magic ponies? Ridiculous nonsense! Humanoid robot servitors? Now that’s much more respectable.

(RJ walks in with a mesh bag over his head)

RJ: I’m a helping robot. I do everything you say!

Dad: I LOVE THIS ROBOT!!!

… (later)

Dad: So, Robot, what do you do for fun?

RJ: We play robot games. Robot hide and seek. Robot chasing. Switch on switch off.

Dad: And do you have to eat food?

RJ: Yes. I am hungry.

Dad: What do you eat?

RJ: (deviously) Only robot lollypops and robot chocolate.

Dad: Bad news, Robot. We don’t have those, anything else?

RJ: (sighing) Sometimes we can eat robot peanut butter sandwiches.

It’s September and the wildflowers have gone crazy. We took a quick trip up to Gingin to wish Grammy a happy birthday and spent an afternoon with Poppa helping him with his electronics and designing our own robots.

RJ and LR work on a birthday present for Grammy.

LR admires a huge bunch of daisies.

The almond and other fruit trees in the garden are all flowering.

Dad and RJ worked together on cutting, gluing and colouring his robot.

LR and RJ keep each other company during the scary bits of a movie.
