Snap, crackle, CHOMP!

(while eating breakfast)

RJ: I’ve built a bridge in my breakfast!

Dad: Who’s the bridge for?

RJ: The polar bears, so they don’t have to swim.

Dad: But polar bears can swim really well!

RJ: Yes, but it disturbs the cute little ammonites.

Dad: Aren’t ammonites extinct?

RJ: (whispering) Yes. They’re really nautiluses. Shhh.

Dad: Gotcha.

RJ: Also, the polar bears are afraid of the ice creatures.

Dad: Ice creatures?

RJ: There are big ice creatures in the water. The bears stand on the bridge and tease them, but sometimes they fall off and the ice creatures eat them.

When North meets South

(discussing dreams over breakfast)

LR: I had a nice dream last night… I had a tea party with a polar bear and a penguin. They didn’t eat each other, but we did end up going over a waterfall together.
