RJ: Violet Kitty is exploring under the ocean… But she’s got to be careful… It’s not safe down there…

RJ: She’s stepping forward and… Look! She’s discovered new life! Violet Kitty is a scientist exploring under the ocean!

(Violet finds something and starts sniffing it.)

RJ: Oh no! No! Violet! Stop! Don’t eat it! (sighs)

RJ: (turns to Dad) Violet Kitty is not an undersea explorer after all… She was just hungry.

In July of 2010, we went for a massive adventure to the USA. Four weeks and several thousand photos later, we returned with an incredible number of experiences under our belt. Our first stop was in Cody, Wyoming, where we spent a week with our incredibly gracious hosts. We cannot thank them enough for the sheer number of amazing things we got to see and do while we were there (not to mention letting our unruly mob stay with them in their beautiful house). It is really an amazing part of the country and we only got more jealous with each day we got to stay with them.

Here are the first few days of our adventure… Airports, travelling, and then adventures near our temporary home in Wyoming!

Easter and the Autumn break rolled around once more, so we took off down south to unwind and relax a little. We brought our friends M, J, J, and I along with us and we all had a great time. Big events this time around were several extreme rock climbing sessions, decorating eggs, the Easter morning hunt, a hike through the Karri forest and the required horse riding.

We made it to the top!

RJ: (spotting a fossil from Dad’s shoulders) There’s one daddy!

Dad: Where? Oh there! Nice one!

RJ: Let’s show mum.

Dad: Okay… Hey Mum, look what RJ found!

Mum: Wow, RJ! That’s a great one! That’s a really good find!

RJ: Yeah well, I’m just doing the best I can.
