And away she goes

LR head off to her first school camp yesterday. A lot of other kids have their parents coming along, but LR insisted that we were absolutely not welcome and should stay at home. Sunday afternoon was spent packing and getting everything ready. As usual, we’re way more worried about this than she is, but we’re trying to be brave.

(while dropping her off at school)

Mum: Okay LR, it’s time for me to go.

LR: Okay mum! I’m going to have a great adventure now. See you! (waves goodbye and runs off)

Last night was incredibly quiet. We spent lots of time playing games with RJ and getting things done. It was just incredible how much quieter life with one kid is. For the first time in months, RJ was in bed and asleep before 7pm!

(while getting ready for bed)

Dad: (yelling) It’s a bit too quiet around here!!!!

Mum: It is quiet around here, don’t you think RJ?

RJ: Yeah. It’s a bit boring without LR.

RJ: … I don’t have anything to play with!
